Customizing Your Blog: Template

1. Log into Blogger, and get to your dashboard.

2. Select the name of the blog you would like to customize.

3. On the options on the side, select "Template."

4. Then, below where there are pictures of what your blog looks like, click the orange button with "Customize" on it.

5. On top, there should be all of the different templates available, and below that should be a preview of your blog.

6. Before you exit out, select "Apply to Blog" to save your customizations!

Backgrounds

a. To change your background, select "Background" from the options on the left.

b. By the small picture with your background on it, click the small triangle.

c. A window will pop up with all of the backgrounds already in Blogger.  To use one of these, click it, then hit "Done."  You will see a preview of your blog, at the bottom.  Blogger already gives credit for the background image.

d. Or, you can use a different background image. To do so, click the small triangle and when the window pops up, select "Upload."  You can upload a JPG, GIF, or PNG file up to 300k in size.
For a full background, use images 1800x1600 or greater.  If your image for your background is smaller than a full background, Blogger will automatically tile it.  Blogger will not credit the source automatically for a custom image.

Adjusting Widths

a. From the options on the left, select "Adjust widths."

b. Adjust widths by sliding the rectangle on the bar, or by typing the number of pixels in the box.

Layout

a. Do not be confused by the layout option in "Template" and the "Layout" on its own.  The "Layout" in "Template".  The layout option in "Template" merely lets you change the body and footer layout, while the other layout option allows you to move, edit, or delete gadgets.

b. Select "Layout" from the options on the left inside the "Template" option.

c. Simply select the layout of your blog by clicking on the format that you want to use.

Advanced

In this section, you can change colors, fonts, and etc.

a. Simply select what you want to customize from the list and modify.
